RTFC - 6 Vs Rejects - 5

Another spectacular night of drama kicked off for Romford Town tonight as they came good in pursuing promotion in their first season.

The towners moved back into the 2nd spot of the league with style, cool heads and determination.

Murrell once again opened the Romford Town account with a sidefooted effort into the far corner, set up by a superb pass from playmaker Stevie Hammond.  The Towners turned on the style as seconds later Murrell was in a position to score once again but was denied by an almost nutmeged keeper.

A stirling first half saw Hammond set up most of the first halfs goals including Dan Monteith's stylish effort put past the keeper after a superb display of Romford Town passing.  Monteith went on to earn praise from joyfull manager Rickee Murrell.  "Motneith done really well tonight, he was so considerate in bed, but during the actual match I thought he had a stormer.  My MOTM decision was swaying between Dan and McGhee so I'm very proud of Monteith at the moment," Murrell commented after the game.

DMK didn't want to know as the photographer tried to warn him of the leg of a Deceptacon behind him

As the game continued the wideboy Lenny Leeson stepped up to add something special to the Romford Town list of greatest goals.  Laid off by a fellow Towner, Leonard stepped forward to boom a speeding right-footed curler into the top right hand corner of the opposition net.  Easily the highlight of the game, Len was commented to be 'sexually aroused' by the quality of his goal.  Hornmeister Rickee Murrell confirmed 'he got a semi on' as the goal was scored.

Team effort was on the cards tonight as superb passing from one end of the pitch to the other made Brazil look Sunday league.  Each Towner coming forward and talking well to outpass and of course outplay their opposition.

Roger Westwood claimed serveral decent shots that should've gone in as he let rip from both sides of the pitch on several occasions.  Steaming down the right with hassle from a Reject player, Dogs managed to pull off a booming shot that the keeper did well to save.

In the second half things went the Romford Town way as Reject shots started hitting not just the target but selected spots of the goal, impossible for any keeper to save.  On occasion McGhee managed to save almost certain goals to keep the goals conceded by the Towners to a minimum.  Acrobatic and high-reflex saves made McGhee our man of the match for the second time this season.  Clawing their way dangerously back into the game the Rejects were finally kept at bay, long enough for the Towners to take the marginal victory back to Romford.

The Romford Town barmy army had it's fair share of salutes

John McGhee - An excellent debut performance in goal for the Towners saw McGhee win his second MOTM award this season.  A consistent performance with some excellent rolling out and of course, wicked saves.  Well played McGhee, the Towners look forward to returning outfield next week.

Chris Jones - The leadership role saw Jones booming orders from the sidelines again this week in what was the most important game of the season.  Inspirational once again 'The Honz' led by example with some nice goals, one disallowed for being in the area, but his man-marking was superb as he stuck to opposition players like Will Young in a gay club.

Stevie Hammond - Pushed the top goalscoring record further from anyones reach this week with more sexy football and sexy goals.  Linked up some excellent passing this week with the rest of the team and played with passion.

Roger Westwood - Had a good one, sticking to wide positions during the game.  Plenty of running and some unlucky centred balls saw Westwood prove why he's always got a place in the team.  Of course the shots were good this week and deserved to get on the scoresheet but unlucky in that area.

Stuart Leonard - Passed well, ran well and marked well in a game that saw a spectacular goal score by the goalscoring artist that is Stuart Leonard.  The pitch his canvas, the ball his paintbrush and his skill his polish all helped push Leonards tally this season up to 3.  A good game throughout.

DMK - Very good performance tonight with plenty of skill and nice passing.  Monteiths usually hurried dribbling seemed calmer this week with him taking Reject players left, right and center all the while making it look natural and sexual.  Superb game.
